WHY BHAIRAVA?
Bhairava is the Lord of Time.
Shiva is the first Yogi. Shiva also represents the mode of ignorance and his job is to elevate fallen souls to the platform of goodness. KalaBhairava controls time and is a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. To receive such an important post, one would need to posess qualities fit to control time itself: strength, power, balance and coordination, flexibility, fearlessness, concentration and full control over the mind and senses. In Bhairava Yoga and Movement we cultivate these qualities through training and discipline in an attempt to slow down the effects of time on an ever-ageing body.
PILLARS OF BHAIRAVA YOGA AND MOVEMENT
Tapas (Discipline) - Achieved through the combination of multiple training modalities: Yoga asana, Mobility, Gymnastics training, Kettlebell and Heavy Clubbell training, Breathing exercises together with balanced, cruelty-free nutrition to fuel the body. The word Tapas itself expands way beyong just the physical dimension and eventually needs to be applied to all aspects of life.
Shastra (Scripture) - No spiritual transformation can ever be achieved without the help of texts that live through time and come down from bona-fide Spiritual Masters, whose footsteps we are trying to follow.
Dharana (Concentration) - the initial step towards meditation, where the object being focused upon is held in the mind without consciousness wavering from it.
Satsang (Community) - Seeking the association of like-minded individuals who support each other in a common goal - Self-Realization.
Bhakti Yoga (Devotion to God/Love of God) - The end-result of ALL yogic practices, specifically recommended for the current, destructive cycle of time (Kali Yuga).
